Inspiration
Suddenly inspired this morning to do two little paintings.
One of a guy in armor.
One of studiojfish (for NW readers it's the real life Fish, Conrad's guildmate)

San Diego Cometh!
I will be in San Diego next weekend, I'll be signing at the Oni booth at set times Friday, Saturday and Sunday (come see me freak out Sunday since I'll be leaving immediately to catch a flight back to Washington).
I will also be at Image at some point to sign copies of Popgun Vol.2. Indeed, I am in an Image book! Even more so the story contained is an 18 page story set in the North World about two original characters.
On top of that I will have a mini comic version of Get Famous. Included in this package will be a four page bonus that I'm cooking up. Here is the cover!
On top of that we'll be selling North World shirts at the Oni booth! In Chocolate and Kelly!

So now I gotta hear from you North World readers and Live Journal watchers, do the shirts, anthologies, or mini comics interest you? What other sort of merch sounds good to you?
Back to working on North World 2!

BEA trip photos and Spokane Comic Con
Here are some photos! Remember when I was in Japan and took pictures of stuff that was interesting just because it was in Japan? Yeah, those glory days are gone forever.

Nearby was the James Paterson Expo of America! Right when I touched down I bought some sushi and horfed it down while I listened to Tom Clancy's agents drone on and on about making millions of dollars. Money, pfft, whatever!

Biff, Pam, ZAP! Comics are for kids! The Diamond controlled graphic novel area was conveniently placed near it's similarly juvenile breatheren at Scholastic. Meanwhile BOOM! Studios was in the main hall and Yaoi was somewhere in between.

For lack of a sample of the BOOK of Gunnerkrigg Court the Archia booth instead had a poster at the BOOK expo of America. But it's cool, all will be forgiven when I hold the hardcover book in my terrible and beautiful hands.

OOOHHHH! Gerard Way! That hot guy from My Chemical Romance makes comics!!!
Oh yeah, my names on there too.

Doug TenNapel's lawn jockey. Breakfast burritos at the TenNapel casa were delicious, good times had in triplicate.

I'm sure this sums up my trip to LA in about a 1000 words or so.
And for the Spokane Comic Con...

That just about sums that up!

Update
Islands has a new album! A NEW ALBUM! Arm's Away! I didn't know! But it only came out two weeks ago, hooray!
Now as long as it doesn't suck I'll be happy.
BEA was great, btw, I'll post some pictures and other art stuff on Monday when I get the internet again.
BEA highlights
- Seeing Alec Baldwin and thinking he was Jack Donaghee from 30 Rock, freaking out and running away before I embarassed myself - Getting free books! No one sold things here, so everyone just gave out books. Even me! I gave away like 40 books to librians and Indians - I went to get a book to give an Indian guy and Art Spieglman was in my way. I babbled about how I love Maus and gave him a copy, probably confused the hell out of him - Ate breakfast burritos at Doug TenNapel's house. Good times! - Watched the Thing with Branscume in Hollywood - Bought Band of Horses and Axe Riverboy cds at Amoeba Music, so far they are OKAY - Regretted being unable to buy any vinyl at Amoeba. Tears - Kazu and Amy, super couple, have convinced me to watch Speed Racer in a theatre if at all possible - Jeff Smith pestering Gene Yang at the panel, good times as well - Not embarassing myself in front of a room of people, this is good as well
My new Duplex (suplex) is amazing.

BEA
I'm at the biggest book expo that I know of!
In LA! Eating sushi, ready for anything!
It's almost like Comic-Con but everyone is older and dressed professionaly. This isn't Cos-Play, it is Cos-Business.
