Busy, busy, not
Here's a recipe for a good day that's been working out for me for the last week: wake up at 6am and write 5-8 pages of script. I think I've been eating a tad better too, which I think helps? But it's causing me to be an obnoxious jerk at work, complaining about how single serving bags of Famous Amos cookies allegedly have 25 percent of your daily fat and calories in one go. I know, I'll stop, it's not helping. *dips carrots in lard*
Otherwise it's been great.
However, I've been pulling some overtime shifts, which drives me to doodle more at work. Here's what comes out.

Giant Robot Girl
I was planning on working on a different picture but I did this instead.
My scanner saps a lot of the saturation out of my colors, it actually helped here because I made the crowd on the right too varied with deeper colors than the rest of the image. It made it muddled.
This was more of an experiment though, the lines are just pushing down hard with pencil and its all done on vellum bristol. Better luck tomorrow.

Tekkon Kinkreet
I picked up the big one volume of Tekkon Kinkreet (which I'm probably spelling wrong) and am liking it a lot. I like how Matsumoto doesn't try to stay on model ever, and apparently regulates rulers to panel borders like I do. While I was in Stumptown I'm pretty sure Matt Bernier told me I need to stay on model more, advice I will work on applying, but I wonder if he'd say the same thing about Tekkon Kinkreet?
Anyway, art!

Lil' Guitar
I want more art on my livejournal, any objections?
I drew this on a piece of 6x6 bristol that I picked up in Portland. Strathmore now puts out 6x6 pads of bristol, amazing!

You know... I should probably be drawing characters from my books, eh?

Stumptown
Stumptown was awesome, got to see a lot of folks. Having a book certainly changes how a convention goes. Like, you know, actually making a little bit of money?
I'm totally crap at describing these things. Thanks to everyone that came up and either bought a book or said they had already bought it. It was great seeing everybody!
Here's two some drawings I did at Denny's with Corey, Jfish, Jacob and Claire. We were there for about three hours. Both are 11x14.

Nico fighting a giant octo-squid, why not?

These are the Tabouli Bros, characters by my buddy Jfish.
